A drone was detected flying over a hydroelectric power plant in Finland last week, despite restrictions on drone usage that were put in place in August 2025.
This was reported on Saturday by Yle. Law enforcement confirmed the information.
According to the publication, the unmanned aerial vehicle flew over the station during daylight hours, prompting local authorities to respond almost immediately to the incident.
The police classified the occurrence as a potential violation of airspace. Following this, a check was conducted to determine unauthorized access.
There has been no information about whether the drone’s operator was identified or if the device itself was captured. Nevertheless, the incident has heightened concerns regarding the vulnerability of critical infrastructure.
